MUGSHOTS - Ottawa's only jail bar
HI-Ottawa's Mugshots Bar is Ottawa's only jail bar! Nestled comfortably in the hostel's unique courtyard that houses the gallows that performed the last public execution in Canada, this place hails people from all over Tuesday through Sunday from 10pm 'till close. Thirsty? We proudly pour Beau's all Natural Beer, a local, award winning organic brewery from Vankleek Hill, Ontario.
In the winter months, Mugshots moves inside into the former jail chapel - what a wonderful space to house a bar! Check out our weekly and monthly events - hostellers always have free admission!
We sell gourmet Grilled Cheeses from Wednesday to Saturday between 6:00 pm to midnight and we serve Beau's, Muskoka, Kichesippi and Flying Monkeys beer.

Total T's Taco Tuesday where Tyler makes cheap delicious tacos. | Every Tuesday 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
Open Mic Night hosted by the adorable Claude Munson | Every Wednesday. Doors opening at 9:00pm
Trivia Night Thursdays. Play some trivia and win prizes. | Every Thursday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Double Barrel where DJ Magnificent plays Soul, Funk and Motown. | Last Friday of the month. $5 cover. Free for hostel guests. Doors at 10:30 pm.
Hostylez: Reggae and Old school hip hop hosted by DJ SoNice and Prufrock. | First Saturday of the month. $5 cover. Free for hostel guests. Doors at 10:30 pm.
Soulselecta: Drum and Bass, Jungle, Dubstep, Funk, Reggae, Electro. | Third Saturday of the month. Free event. Doors at 10:30 pm.
Ceremony: Electronic, techno, Bass Jams hosted by DJ Troup Ceremony | Last Saturday of the month. Doors at 10pm.
Dusty Owl Reading Series: a poetry, music and art event. | Third Sunday of the month. Free. From 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Partyy: Arts and crafts and DJ to follow. | Second Saturday of the month.
